Nachtigal Hydropower Plant- First 60MW unit connected to Cameroon’s national grid

The first (60MW) hydropower unit of the 420MW Nachtigal Hydropower Plant in Cameroon, which Africa50 invested in, has been successfully connected to the national grid. When fully commissioned, the plant will boost energy production by 30%, raising the share of renewable energy in Cameroon’s energy mix to 75%. To mark the occasion today, shareholders and government officials attended a signing ceremony in Nachtigal.
