Africa50 Participates in the Summit of the Francophonie
On November 25, Africa50 CEO Alain Ebobisse participated in the economic program of the Summit of the Francophonie in Madagascar. The headline conference, “Shared Growth and Responsible Development: The Conditions for Stability in the Francophonie and the World,” was opened by Malagasy President Hery Rajaonarimampianina and Francophonie Secretary General Michaelle Jean, as well as the heads of the principal Malagasy business associations.
The objective of the economic program during the Summit was to further discuss and put in place strategies for implementing the engagements taken during the September 2016 “Journée de la Francophonie économique et numérique.” The main themes of the panel discussions revolved around structural transformation, inclusive growth and responsible finance, industrial and entrepreneurial development, and innovation.
Mr. Ebobisse participated in the panel: “Finance and Capital at the Service of Responsible Development.” He was joined by senior officials from the World Bank and the China Overseas Infrastructure Development and Investment Corporation, as well as financiers from France. In his presentation Mr. Ebobisse explained the innovations Africa50 can bring to financing infrastructure in Africa, especially during the crucial project development phase.
