Africa50 Organizes Webinar at the Africa Tech Festival to Unveil the Winners of the Innovation Challenge

Africa50 organized a panel on Investing in Digital Infrastructure and Growth at the Africa Tech Festival. The panel brought together African leaders in technology and infrastructure financing to discuss how investment in digital infrastructure could spur growth for a post-pandemic recovery.

The session was moderated by the co-founder of Insider and the Africa Expert Network, Aubrey Hruby. Speakers included: Mr. Alain Ebobisse, Africa50 CEO; Hon. Minister Paula Ingabire, Minister of ICT and Innovation of Rwanda; Ms. Funke Opeke, Chief Executive Officer, Main One, and Mr. Lacina Kone, Chief Operating Officer, Smart Africa. 

The panel discussion was followed by the unveiling of the winners of Africa50’s first Innovation Challenge which focused on sourcing solutions to help address last mile/ rural internet connectivity in Africa.
